I feel so blessed, I must confess

‘Twas beneath the tree
That I did see
Amidst the green
The quiet, the serene.

Whispers of the breeze;
The buzz of bumblebees;
Rustle of the leaves;
The sunshine, ah, the peace!

I feel so blessed
I must confess
To realise I am no less
Than he, she and the rest.

I am His child, without a doubt
As are we all, just shout it out.
All are equal, there is no doubt,
Loved by Him, of us He’s proud.

So let me dream
Beneath the tree
Of the “good, kind me”
I intend to be.

Realisation?

… Aye!

‘Twas beneath the tree
That I did see
Amidst the green
His eternal love for me.

Stop and smell the flowers

“When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it’s your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else. Most people in the city rush around so, they have no time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not.”  ~ Georgia O’Keeffe

I spent my childhood in England. Lovely memories! Vivid is the memory of the floral beauty there—daffodil, bluebell, chrysanthemum, sweet pea, geranium, foxglove, hydrangea, carnation, to name just a few. Happily, I can still picture the garden.

It’s a warm, sunny day. The flowers are flourishing. Bumblebees buzz among the petals and beautiful butterflies flit from bloom to bloom. Enhancing this delightful experience further, is the sweet fragrance of the different flowers.

But, alas, so many of us are forever dashing here and there, in a perpetual frenzy to reach our destinations that we don’t stop to take in the floral beauty that surrounds us. Carrying brollies and bags, we even fail to notice the gentle breeze which transports the sweet scent everywhere.

If we could just pause, a little while to relax. Take note of the splendid greenery…the flowers…trees and the verdant grass. Then inhale. Exhale. What a different (and better) person we would be! We would be more appreciative of God’s wonderful blessings. And, truly grateful to Him for His miracles.

Knowing how much I love flowers (doesn’t everyone?), my beloved friends from all over the world shared with me photos of  their gorgeous gardens. Bless ’em, the dear souls!

Now, through my blog , I am sharing a few of the photos.

Enjoy!

Remember to also, think of happy, positive thoughts. Focus on your breathing. Inhale. Exhale. All the while, smiling. God bless!

I’m a flower-happy kinda gal!

From childhood I have loved flowers. I remember visiting parks, botanical gardens, florists and just taking in all the splendid sights and fragrances. What joy!

You might just say that I’m a flower-happy kinda gal!

Indeed, I’m one among the many who adore them. No matter how blue one’s feeling, simply look at flowers and your whole world turns pink and rosy.

So it is no wonder we give flowers to those who are sick. A hospital room appears more cheerful with floral arrangements placed by a window or on a shelf.

Of course, new mommies and babes are embraced with flowers galore.

Ailing children are given a warm hug with pretty blooms.

Beautiful bouquets are graciously presented to friends as they settle in their new home , adding much to their happiness.

On her big day, a bride clutches a bunch of flowers, enhancing the beauty of her bridal gown. An Eastern bride entwines fragrant flowers in her hair, and sits atop a tastefully decorated stage , displaying exquisite blooms.

Birthdays are yet another occasion for flowers. Roses are popular. Just one or a whole bunch of them are, equally, heartily accepted. After all, it’s the thought that counts!

Say it with flowers. Brighten up mum’s day. Thank a sibling for always being there. Appreciate a colleague. Value a neighbour, a friend, a spouse. Certainly, the language of flowers is understood by all. N’est-ce pas?

Take a peek at some of my favourite quotes on flowers…

“The earth laughs in flowers.”

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

“The violets in the mountains have broken the rocks.”

~ Tennessee Williams, Camino Real

“I must have flowers, always, and always.”

~ Claude Monet

Yes, my thoughts exactly!

I share this rose with you

I Share This Rose With You

With you, my friend, I’d like to share this rose

So pink, so fresh, so pretty it grows.

Reminds me of thoughts so gentle and bright

That all seems perfect and just so right.

It reminds me of harmony, peace and joy

The gentle smile of a baby boy.

The giggles shy of a little girl

Her lashes hidden behind that curl.

I smell the crisp starch of clothes on the line

Fluttering in the morning breeze so fine.

I see a kindly wrinkled face, with a grin so wide,

Old age is wise, tolerant and, aye, an experienced guide.

I clasp the rose, so pink, so fresh, with buds all four

Awaiting to open, to unfold in God’s time, they wait at His door.

So just like these buds I too shall wait

For His blessings to unfold, because lovingly, He does state…

“Trust in My timing for My timing is perfect. Just let Me do My job!”

The Path Down To The Beach

The sandy path winds its way between palms so lush. These towering trees sway in the sand s of time. Seconds pass by.

Each moment, every experience creates a memory. Such are treasured memories made. Spend time relaxing, enjoy the thrill of each new day.

I watch clouds float gently by while birds soar gleefully in the gleaming sunshine. The sand shimmers in the sunlight and feels warm to the soles of my feet.

The palm trees whisper a soft welcome as I finally reach the sea.

Ooh! The waters are cool. Refreshingly cool. I wade knee deep. What a delight! The surf splashes about me and I spend time, savouring the experience. Carefree. Lazing. Enjoying. Basking in the moment. Lost in time.

The waters swirl around my ankles. Now and again a bit of seaweed entwines itself between my toes.

I hear the merry noises of children playing nearby. I see a few folk reading beneath the shade of the palms, engrossed in an enchanting world of their own. Here and there, bathers lay on towels eager to catch a beautiful bronze sun tan.

Toddlers play with sand, clasping spades and filling colourful buckets with the shiny granules. Shrieks of delight and giggles as youngsters excitedly splash water on each other. What a joyful sight!

Tall tumblers of fruit punch accepted eagerly by the beach-goers, as they cool themselves off. Deckchairs polka-dot the beach and a razzmatazz of psychedlic sun umbrellas stand prominantly along the shore.

I too sit on the sand. Pensive in thought. How peaceful the scene.. How serene my mind!

I am grateful for the blessing of the beach. I love the sight of the sea! And the restful sound of the gentle roll of the tide.

Enjoy..

Autumn Leaves

Standard

A cup of hot tea sits on the window sill. I lift it up and curl my fingers around it. My hands feel the swaddling warmth. Swirls of blistering steam spiral upwards. I see the wispy twirls then whizz out through the open window. I push the curtain aside. And take a deep breath, inhaling the crisp, cool morning air.

I take a peek outside. The scene before me excites my senses. The morning chill tingles my skin with goose bumps; my ears perk up to the outdoorsy sounds; I smell the fresh, clean air, and gladly eye the shower of leaves, fluttering about like snowflakes.

I am your blessing, said the petal to the flower

I am your blessing, said the petal to the flower

Down in the countryside, deep in the garden

Is a bed of buds just waiting to blossom.

Whispering sounds of gentle breeze rustle all around,

The verdant grass, a welcome sight, its dewdrops glisten bright.

Radiantly, the sun now shines; the rains have played their part

But buds remain buds, unopened…just nodding up and down.

When suddenly, magically, abracadabra, appears a pretty petal,

One by one, the petals emerge, splashing colours ‘pon the green.

‘We are yours – your heavenly blessings,’ cry out the petals, loud and clear

Then, with grace and quiet dignity, all unite to form the flower.
