I’m sitting here. In the garden, enjoying the beautiful sunshine. Besides absorbing the essential Vitamin D, I, also, take in the sights and sounds of chirping birds and the gentle sway of palm fronds in the soft, cool breeze.

And I ponder; I reflect upon the year gone by – 2018. It was a busy year. A happy year. A sad year. Many different emotions all packed into one memorable year. With the advent of a fresh new year, the Gracious Almighty has given me another chance to put right my wrongs, and afforded me the opportunity to allow myself to become the best ME that I could possibly be. Indeed, for that I truly thank You.

I realise that my blessings, however small they may be, appear everywhere, every day, and, more importantly, they are there, for me, with each new year. Therefore, now that 2019 has dawned, I am deeply and veraciously grateful for each fresh, new day.

A few of my blessings – miracles – are penned below, in poetic form.

So, put down your mug of coffee, stop playing video games, and simply sit back, against the puffed up cushions in your nice, comfy, chunky sofa. Huddle up beneath your warm ‘blankie’, and read on.

Read slowly, meaningfully, pausing, now and again, to digest the vivid imagery present in the poem….

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“See the garden, green and lush, that freshly blooms;
Observe the red-bricked house and all its rooms;
Note the far off planet, strange, with rings and several moons;
Look! Happy, excited, giggly children, watching cartoons.
Aye, undoubtedly, these are the fine signs of some of Your miracles!
******
“Ah, heed the ocean, with its waves, eddies and tides;
The sprightly, little donkey and its fun-filled rides;
Smell the bakery goodies – its cakes, doughnuts and pies;
Listen to the chatter and natter of proud grooms ‘n’ blushing brides.
Aye, undoubtedly, these are the fine signs of some of Your miracles!
******
“Watch the bonny, bouncy, bubbly babes;
Catch those magical, wonderful, dainty snowflakes;
Oh! And, careful of gorillas, baboons, chimps and apes;
Sea creatures of odd sizes – Wow! A kaleidoscope of colours ‘n’ shapes.
Aye, undoubtedly, these are the fine signs of some of Your miracles!
******
“Embrace the loving protection of your dad – be enormously grateful;
Hug the caring devotion of your mum – be tremendously thankful;
Cuddle up with the love and affection of sibling unity – be joyful;
For, yes, indeed, ’tis family that really matters – utterly delightful!
Aye, undoubtedly, these are the fine signs of some of Your miracles!
“So…
“Much obliged, we truly are, dear Lord, for all these rich Blessings,
You are Merciful, Gracious, Omnipotent, Forgiving and Kind;
Appreciative we are, for the life You have granted us – with its endless lessons;
Prithee, most earnestly, humbly we pray, bless us to be good, gentle and kind.”
Amen/Ameen.
Auld Lange Syne – 2018
What a lovely start to the new year! Happy thoughts of health, joy and compassion.
I am so grateful to welcome in yet another year to help me fulfil my oh-so-many hopes, dreams and aspirations. Thank You, O Lord.
Yes, indeed, a wonderful way to kick in 2018!
Whilst we celebrate this auspicious occasion, let us not forget family, friends, elderly, strangers, refugees, orphans, children, babies – every citizen of the world….no matter where they reside, and, regardless of their race, colour and creed.
Do extend a warm, loving handshake of peace and kindness. Embrace their hurt and shower them with love and affection. Remember, we are all God’s children, and, therefore, equal in His presence.
Pray!
Send a prayer out to those who are battling inner demons….may they feel the calm they so yearn for.
Pray for strength for those struggling with health issues….may they find comfort and ease.
Pray for courage for those youngsters that are troubled by peer pressure…may they gain the confidence to stand tall and strong.
Amen!
Here, I would like to include my special thoughts….for you and the people of the world:
May God embrace you with His love and mercy;
May you enjoy good health and success;
May happiness be yours;
May all your dreams be realised;
And your hopes and wishes too;
May His light shine upon your home;
And keep you and your loved ones safe;
‘Tis the time for reconciliation;
A warm embrace; forgiveness, too;
Treasure old acquaintances;
Welcome new friends;
Cherish memories of the past;
Enjoy new experiences;
Have fun and celebrate your life;
Life is like a tapestry of magnificence..
That is interwoven with precious family and friends.
Allow compassion for everyone –  young and old alike;
Be strong in sorrow and steadfast in trials;
Let not setbacks discourage, but rather stir up in you a fierce determination.
Value health, it’s His greatest gift.
Breathe the air and be grateful;
Thankful for the sense of sight, smell, taste, touch..
And listen to the sound of the Joy of Life!
Accept bright challenges!
Welcome new responsibilities!
Dare to be remarkable!
Dare to be outstanding!
Dare to be positive!
And, above all..
Dare to be good!
May this year be your best one!
Thank you for being a part of my life.
Peace. God bless. Love and Light.
My “Happy Tree”
Life is wonderful, indeed; ’tis fantastic fun;
Glorious, cheery blessings…yes, for everyone.
Indoor, my cup, O Lord, it runneth over
Gushing with Your loving grace and power.
So, there I go, outdoor, and in the garden
I plant my happy “Happy Tree” – Amen!
This tree I have, for all to see,
I call it mine, the “Happy Tree”.
And on its branches twining,
I hang my blessings swirling, twirling.
The love that dwells inside my heart,
I drape around the tree, to start.
Countless “thank You’s” from my mind
Around the boughs I gently wind.
Like bright, shiny tinsel strands
My eyes place rainbow beauty bands.
The good I hear, and wise advice,
I display with pride, my bumper prize.
I feel a feel, a blissful feel
About my tree, my “Happy Tree”.
Life’s all about love, light and joy,
Peace, contentment, for us to enjoy.
So, thank You, Lord, I wish to express..
Deep gratitude for all You bless!
Whispers of the heart
Sit a while, my friend. And, listen.
Give ear to the silence. It is deafening.
It shouts out.
Close your eyes.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Let go of the stress.
Think of a sweet image.
A scene, so serene,
Soothing, calming,
Caressing, embracing.
Perceive the warmth,
And the gentle feel of…
Fairy dust,
Angel sparkle.
A caring cuddle,
A big, bear snuggle.
Take to heart, and appreciate…
The LOVE that blooms,
And the PEACE which rules.
So…
Let go of the stress,
Toss out all distress.
Remember!
Ne’er despair..
Of His loving care.
For He is always there..
In silence, be still…and listen…to Him.
When the soul speaks, the heart listens
Standard
“The most painful tears are not the ones that fall from your eyes and cover your face. It’s the ones that fall from your heart and cover your soul.” ~ Author Unknown
When you are unable to open a new jar of jam. And you burst into tears. That’s okay.
When that beautiful bone china teacup slips from your hand and shatters into smithereens. And those tears pop up again. That’s okay.
When someone you wholeheartedly trust, wickedly betrays you. And you sob, bitterly, the tears just gushing out. That is, also, perfectly okay.
When, one day, feeling totally distraught, you happen to find yourself, all alone. And having to bear new responsibilities, both financially and emotionally, single-handedly – raising children, guiding them, advising them, being their rock – then weep if you must, but hang in there, tight.
Cry, oh, do cry! Oodles and oodles. Let the tears just flow. They are a part of the healing process.
Most importantly, tears are a language only God understands. He has heard the silent screams of your heart and soul. Indeed, you are not alone for He comprehends and, He is there beside you…always is and always will be.
Therefore, no matter what, do not despair!
For, once the tears have dried, and your vision is crystal clear, look above you. There’s that wonderful rainbow, beaming bright and cheerily, in all its glory. Yes! Just as He promised.
So, persevere and have faith. Keep that hope going strong. And… Trust in His timing, for His timing is perfect. Just let Him do His job!
And, believe me, do, when I tell you all this – for, I too, have been down that road. Yes, with my big bagful of tears. But I waited, though, I must confess, a wee bit impatiently, for that promised rainbow.
Today, with His grace, I stand before you, a much better, stronger, wiser, tolerant, and a more loving and compassionate human being.
So…
When the soul speaks, the heart listens. Keep peace in your soul, love in your heart and grace on your lips.
Love and Light. God bless.
My every bit of Paradise!
O let me rest my weary self,
Beneath the gently swaying boughs;
I lay my head down ‘pon the ground,
Lost, my body aches to find that peace.
That elusive peace; the calmness; the serenity;
O thoughts, confused; jumbled; incoherent.
But, hush now, I hear the rustle of the leaves,
Or….wait! Ah, yes, ’tis an angel I sense.
Its wings whisper to me, restful, comforting words;
Thoughts of love and light embrace my very being..
O what ecstasy! The utter delight, the joy I feel,
Yes, this courtyard, this peaceful haven – my every bit of Paradise!
O Willow Tree Weep NOT For Me
Standard
Weep not for me, O Willow Tree, ‘tis you I do implore,
Weep for those unblessed world regions, where humanity is no more.
Where, in senseless wars, horrifically, brothers execute brothers,
And elsewhere, yes, unbelievably, crazed brothers slay their sisters.
Where, also, so ashamedly, there is no tolerance, no patience, no compassion,
Only pride, arrogance, sanctimony, hypocrisy – Oh, Sanity, what happened to loving passion?
Families, countless, shattered; their dwellings, annihilated,
Womenfolk savagely tortured, battered and violated.
Weep on, O Willow Tree, for those innocent babes, yet to be born,
What? Aghast! Is the ‘Charter of  Human Rights’, all ripped and torn?
Sense the anguish, O Willow Tree, of screeching wails and deafening shrieks,
Note the poverty, the helplessness, the filth and dreaded disease.
O Willow Tree, you bow and weep, while the feeble try to sleep,
With depressed, rugged faces, their spirits scarred so deep.
Young and old alike, all crave a warm, safe embrace; a gentle, kindly smile,
Peace is what they pine for; security, utmost, they yearn for – Oh, Mercy, do end this tormenting trial!
Hence, once again, I do implore thee…
O Willow Tree, weep NOT for me.
Just look at the world – its chaos, turmoil, havoc and cruelty,
O Willow Tree, can’t you see? The world – itself – it weeps for me and thee.
A new wind blows.
Direction shown.
Guidance given.
Hand firmly clasped.
Strength.
Reassurance.
The breeze brings relief,
Ah, so refreshing.
Contentment.
Fulfilment.
Peace.
Beneath the tree I sit…
In silence.
With eyes shut,
Meditating.
Taking in the shower of blessings galore.
…Thank You, Lord, for all this and more!
I share this rose with you
I Share This Rose With You
With you, my friend, I’d like to share this rose
So pink, so fresh, so pretty it grows.
Reminds me of thoughts so gentle and bright
That all seems perfect and just so right.
It reminds me of harmony, peace and joy
The gentle smile of a baby boy.
The giggles shy of a little girl
Her lashes hidden behind that curl.
I smell the crisp starch of clothes on the line
Fluttering in the morning breeze so fine.
I see a kindly wrinkled face, with a grin so wide,
Old age is wise, tolerant and, aye, an experienced guide.
I clasp the rose, so pink, so fresh, with buds all four
Awaiting to open, to unfold in God’s time, they wait at His door.
So just like these buds I too shall wait
For His blessings to unfold, because lovingly, He does state…
“Trust in My timing for My timing is perfect. Just let Me do My job!”
